If Your Visa is Denied
- You will be informed by the consular office on why you are ineligible to receive a visa
- In some instances, you may be able to apply for a waiver of the ineligibility
- If you are unable to apply for this waiver, you will be informed on what steps you should take next
- In some situations, the office may not have enough information or may be missing supporting documentation. They will inform you on missing documents or information and how to provide it
- Some visa applicants may require further administrative processing
- The office will inform you at the end of your interview if administrative processing is required
- At the end of the administrative processing period, the office will conclude if you are qualified for the visa
- Applicants should wait at least 180 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents before making inquiries about status of administrative processing
