If Your Visa is Denied

You will be informed by the consular office on why you are ineligible to receive a visa
In some instances, you may be able to apply for a waiver of the ineligibility
If you are unable to apply for this waiver, you will be informed on what steps you should take next
In some situations, the office may not have enough information or may be missing supporting documentation. They will inform you on missing documents or information and how to provide it
Some visa applicants may require further administrative processing
- The office will inform you at the end of your interview if administrative processing is required
- At the end of the administrative processing period, the office will conclude if you are qualified for the visa
- Applicants should wait at least 180 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents before making inquiries about status of administrative processing
